They're so back!

I think I would be remiss if I don't write about them, or this well-written article by GQ.

https://www.gq.com/.../bts-begins-again-gq-cover-story...

The article started with how they got back after serving the military, and the anticipation and high expectation of their upcoming album, Arirang.

It ended with a more personal note from the writer, saying that he has ARMY in his circle, including his own Mom who got hooked to them during the pandemic while taking of her sick mother.

During that dark time, on nights when she would have to force herself to stay awake while keeping watch on my grandmother, who was breathing through an oxygen concentrator, my mother would watch YouTube videos of the Bangtan Boys on her phone (she knew to only watch on the official BTS channels so the views counted), their playful antics providing levity, their essential goodness allowing for hope. “They kept me company during those late nights,” she tells me now. “There were so many problems, but I would watch their videos and, for a moment, they would make me smile.”

Some of the highlights in this article:

For those two months in LA, back together in the same house, the boys—now men in their late 20s and early 30s—worked day in and day out, all in an effort to make the best possible album. They worked as if digging for a piece of gold, like they did in the early days. “And I think we kind of found one,” RM says, referring to their fifth studio album and their first in nearly six years, which will of course come with a colossal world tour. It’s the most eagerly anticipated comeback in recent music history, inspiring a kind of feverish excitement reminiscent of when Elvis returned from the Army in 1960.

“What I feel about the seven BTS guys,” said Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, “is that they have been—it seems, from knowing them a bit—made closer by that very intense process [of becoming stars].” Martin and Coldplay collaborated with BTS on the number one hit “My Universe.” “I was really happy that it seemed like they had each other’s backs. They’re very tight, personally, and they intertwine well. They don’t tread on each other’s toes too much. There’s distinct roles…. The love between them is real. That was the most striking thing—love in a very intense situation.”

“We all treasure BTS more than we treasure each one of us separately,” says V. “We debuted as a group, so I think that’s the core identity that we have.”

The annals of pop-music history are bursting with more examples of great bands that met their demise due to intraband dynamics and the temptation of solo careers than ones that went on a break and successfully reunited. The fact that all seven members of BTS have had successful solo efforts that handily showcased their individual identities as artists but are making good on their promise to get back together and continue working as a band, is a triumph in itself. The boys increasingly have individual passions, highly personal artistry, and busy lives of their own.

“They’re just good people. It’s as simple as that,” Halsey said. “They are respectful of each other and inclusive of everyone’s opinion and ideas. There’s a really clear vision of what BTS is so everyone knows what’s on the agenda, and they’ve hit such a stride in how their individual strengths support that central vision. It’s not a really egocentric environment. There’s no way it could be, considering how focused they are on representing BTS and rewarding the fans.”

And of course, they all look so good in the photos...I have to save them on file, too!

Hello, February!

It's been weeks since my last post.

A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month. The first 31 days of 2026 have passed by, the 2nd month is now here. How have I been so far? What have I done? Have I been in my total reset era? Have I been working on my 2026 intentions?

Let's review these intentions first:

- I will be present

- I will take it one day at a time

- I will take more care of my health (physical and mental)

- I will be intentional in spending time with those people who matter

- I will show kindness, patience and love to all people I meet

- I will strive to improve at least 1% each day

So far, so good, I must say. I strive to be present and just taking one day at a time. January has been a slow month for me, with some sick days (UTI, cough and colds, then some days off with my ThyCa symptoms) and typhoons in the area. The slow days gave me the chance to take care of myself more, and just spend some me-time. I took care of my health with my daily walks, journaling and Bible reading. I'm up to speed with my Bible plan, I praise God for that. I spent time with my friends, and got to witness Erns and Janus' reconciliation late in January. I think I have shown kindness and patience to people around me - and will continue to do so. The last item on the list - improving at least 1% each day - I think I can do better with this one. Thankfully, I finished "When the Coffee Gets Cold" books series (though I still have to find for the latest installment "Before We Forget Kindnesss". January has passed, and I hope to achieve more this February.

Day 4: Pray for Healing

For today's Prayer and Fasting, the prayer focus is on Healing. This is close to my heart as I have been praying for my own healing the past months. It's been 3 years since my Thyroid Cancer diagnosis

Day 3: Praying for FAMILY and the YOUTH

No family is perfect. Even the most put-together families have struggles, but God is able to restore, rebuild, and hold every family together.

2 Kings 22:2, 8, 11, 13, 19 ² He did right in the sight of the LORD and walked in all the way of his father David, nor did he turn aside to the right or to the left. ⁸ Then Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD.” And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan who read it. ¹¹ When the king heard the words of the book of the law, he tore his clothes. ¹³ “Go, inquire of the LORD for me and the people and all Judah concerning the words of this book that has been found, for great is the wrath of the LORD that burns against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.” ¹⁹ because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I truly have heard you,” declares the Lord.

See you in 2027?!

Day 2: Praying for the CHURCH

REMEMBER,

REPENT,

RETURN TO YOUR FIRST LOVE, JESUS

Revelation 2:1-7

1 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:

The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this: 2 ‘I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot

tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false; 3 and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent. 6 Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’
